Founded in 1987, Gilead Sciences, Inc. has become a world leader in biopharmaceutical development. Headquartered in Foster City, California, Gilead continues to enhance its research facilities through the development of a new 63,000 s.f. laboratory building. The new building includes: research biology labs; bio-physics and protein labs; tissue culture labs; freezer/cold rooms; HIV clinical virology rooms; offices; conference rooms; lab support rooms; medical chemistry labs and offices; a 250-seat auditorium and stage; and general purpose facilities. SANDIS’ surveying services included the preparation of boundary and topographic surveys. Engineering services included conceptual, preliminary and file plans for: grading and drainage, storm, sanitary sewer and water, and detention pond design. Services also included fire design plans, technical specifications, construction notes and details, and SWPPP and erosion control as well as off-site plans for frontage improvements.
