Brian Cancimilla has consistently been an engineering exemplar, with an extraordinary commitment to Sandis’ values and wealth of experience. He has worked on a diverse range of projects in education, public works, water infrastructure, and multi-use developments throughout his 12 years at Sandis. We look forward to witnessing his journey as a civil engineer as he moves into the Senior Project Manager role. Brian is a natural leader. Look no further and you will find him coaching the Sandis softball team, rallying folks to play in cornhole tournaments, or taking on office improvement projects. We are eager to see what the future holds for him and more importantly, what he has in store for us next!
We are proud to recognize Steven Yasutake's outstanding contributions and his unwavering commitment to our team, leading him to a well-deserved promotion to Senior Project Manager. Over the years, Steven has demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and dedication through successfully managing a wide range of projects and juggling multiple tasks on time. Additionally, Steven has mentored countless engineers.
His tireless efforts in preparing RFPs and proposals, as well as sharing knowledge and initiating side projects with his team, have made a significant impact on our department's productivity. We look forward to his continued leadership and success.
We would like to congratulate Kevin Gaunt for being promoted to Project Manager at our Spokane office. Kevin has stepped up as team lead for the office and has always shown great attention to detail on the products that the Spokane office provides to our clients. His diligence brings repeat customers back consistently and his support has been a tremendous help in getting construction staking projects off the ground. An avid outdoorsman, skilled photographer, and exceptional colleague, Kevin has a unique ability to engage people through his lens as a land surveyor. His photographs have been featured twice on the front cover of the Evergreen State Surveyor. Kevin is President of the Inland Empire Chapter of the Land Surveyor’s Association of Washington (LSAW) and also a member of their Outreach Committee. A great photographer, mentor, surveyor—what can’t he do?
For nearly a decade, Nick Chandler has been an invaluable asset to our team. He cuts no corners when it comes to his responsibilities, such as working on land development projects, preparing civil plans, performing demand sizing and hydraulic calculations, and reviewing RFIs and material submittals. That’s just the tip of the iceberg! Whip-smart as he is, Nick also brings a wonderful levity and sharp wit to the office. Colleagues in the Oakland office can always refer to him as a rich source of knowledge and insight knowing that he genuinely cares equally about individual and team growth. All these roads led to his promotion as Project Manager! We are thrilled to see what paths Nick embarks on from here and what successes may come.
Over the past two years, Emily Hernandez has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, strong work ethic, and a passion for finding the best talent to join our company. During her time as Recruiting Coordinator, she’s been instrumental in making our hiring processes smoother, supporting our recruitment efforts, and ensuring we bring in amazing candidates.
This new role as a Recruiter is a perfect fit for Emily and a well-deserved recognition of her hard work, growth, and commitment to our company’s success. We’re all confident that she’ll continue to do fantastic work and help us bring in even more top talent.
