Featured Santa Clara University Project

Admissions and enrollment services facility

 

Sandis provided surveying and engineering services for the development of a 2-story, 25,347 s.f. student services building to house the new student orientation, enrollment and admissions services.

Surveying services included the preparation of a boundary survey to locate the existing public utility easement; plat and legal descriptions to abandon existing public utility easement; plat and legal descriptions to create a new storm drain easement; supplemental topographic survey that will be prepared at a scale of 1″ = 20′. The survey showed the location of existing trees, structures, walkways, fences, adjacent roadways, and utility information within the project areas. The location of utility vaults, manholes, catch basins and invert information of Storm and Sanitary Sewers will be shown based upon a field survey.

The location of underground utilities lines such as gas, water, electric, and any on-site utilities will be shown based upon available agency records. Contours will be shown at one (1) foot intervals or as appropriate to clearly define the slopes. Surveying also included underground locating services. Mechanical locating services were provided for detectable utilities using standard locating methods as listed in the California Government Code section 4216 through 4216.9.

Engineering services included the preparation of: grading and drainage plans; storm, sanitary and water plans; composite utility plan for overall utility coordination, conflict avoidance and utility placement; technical specifications for our portion of work; coordination of site utilities to avoid tree conflicts; fire design plan with pipe sizing, flow analysis, fire system layout including fire hydrants, FDC’s and PIC’s for bidding purposes for site work only; construction notes and details for the civil portion of work; services for compliance under the NPDES general construction activity storm water permit, including the preparation of a SWPPP; and update SCU’s overall base map to reflect as built conditions after project completion.
