West Valley College, Student Engagement Center

Sandis worked closely with the architectural and design team on the phase 2 of the Main Building Replacement efforts. This new Student Engagement Center houses a breadth of student services, including a Welcome Center, Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Health Services, Student Outreach, and a Career/Transfer Center. The building also houses instructional space, study areas, skills labs, tutoring spaces and faculty offices. Sandis provided engineering services for the main building replacement phase 2, entry replacement and short term parking addition. Services included: demolition and utility relocation plans; grading and drainage plans; stormwater management plan (SWMP – including processing for permit approvals) technical specifications; minor off-site plans (sidewalk frontage, curb cuts for driveway and utilities connections); construction notes and details; services for compliance under NPDES General Construction Activity Storm water Permit; fire design plan with pipe sizing, flow analysis, fire system layout, including fire hydrants; and DSA submissions. During the final phases of the project, we are providing bidding assistance and construction services.
