Doing good begins at home. On Saturday, April 30th, Sandis had the opportunity to team with Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley (RTSV) to give back to a 100 year-old local WWII veteran and hero, Mr. Edward Garcia. A crew of 30+ Sandis employees joined forces to help give back to Mr. Garcia by repainting his home.
Mr. Garcia served with the US army from 1946 to 1992 and was recognized by President Truman for his honorable and life-saving leadership. He is the only remaining child of twelve siblings and now lives with his daughter in San Jose. His daughter shares stories of how he regularly filled his truck with food and medical supplies to give to people in need and orphanages.
Our team, in partnership with the RTSV team, knocked out this project in only a few hours. Special shout out to the excellent RTSV staff who led the way. It’s safe to say, at the end of the day, everyone shared the opinion that our day was both rewarding and incredibly special to share.
