Sandis, along with Alta Planning and Design, provided feasibility planning, public outreach, and preliminary design services for nine bicycle boulevard corridors in Palo Alto. After this initial phase was completed, the City selected the Sandis team to prepare the final design Construction Documents for four of these bicycle boulevard corridors.
These projects include urban roundabouts, curb extensions, raised crosswalks, raised intersections, green bicycle lanes, wayfinding signage, and other traffic calming elements. This project quickly built the City’s bicycle network by linking schools, parks, and job centers and establishing high-quality facilities to attract additional ridership within the community.
