Thornhill Elementary School

Sandis provided engineering services for storm water and drainage improvements for the Thornhill elementary school campus. During the initial project phase, services included: site reconnaissance to observe signs of drainage deficiencies and probable sources of run-off; calculations to determine if run-off from the adjacent subdivision was being conveyed in existing storm drainage systems and what amount of run-off might be bypassing and running down slope onto OUSD property; and the preparation of a report with exhibits to summarize our findings and recommendations for improvements.

Sandis also managed the team’s geotechnical consultant for pavement section recommendations. Following the completion of the report, services included: grading, paving and drainage plan, including striping to match the existing layout (including a trench drain and connection to the storm drain main); technical specifications; construction notes and details; and construction administration services. During the final phase of the project, services will include the preparation of close out documents and record documents based on contractor mark-ups.
