Sandis provided surveying services for the development of Stanford University’s Frost Amphitheater.
Sandis conducted 3D laser scanning and providing one set of construction stakes for the following: rough grade building, pad certification, building control, storm drain; firewater, domestic water, sanitary sewer, rough grade curb, finish grade curb; finish grade seat walls, finish grade meandering path, locate and verify existing control points, establish off-sets for excavation, centerline for the concert hall, 3 vertical benchmark locations; and horizontal radial stake.
Our engineers had a lot of fun engineering a solution to the drainage problem that outdoor amphitheaters often pose. The Frost Amphitheater in particular sits at the bottom of a small incline, resulting in the need to engineer a way to divert rainwater and create a landscape that diverted rather than gathered rainwater.
