Michelle Obama Elementary School

Recently renamed Michelle Obama Elementary School, Sandis worked with the Design/Build team on the design and construction of a new 51,000 SF, K-6 elementary school campus. The new school, located in El Cerrito, CA, will provide students with a world-class learning environment, offering intentionally-designed flexible spaces. The Type-IV single and two-story buildings major spaces will include a multi-purpose room, library, administrative spaces, community kitchen, flex learning suites equipped with makerspace labs, and offices. A site package will also be included which will consist of hardscape, faculty parking and drop-off areas, landscape, and play structures, a synthetic turf field, outdoor learning areas and a garden.
