From Ty Hensley, our adrenaline-loving Project Engineer:
Have you ever felt the thrill of slalom waterskiing? The 16-second rush across the slalom course, flying across the glassy water from entrance to exit, makes the world disappear around me. My heart nearly beats right out of my chest whenever the boat’s engine revs to max speed, pulling me sharply around a turn. As I take the pass to rip and cut fast across the wake, I mentally lock in. It’s such a euphoric experience!
I have always lived a highly active lifestyle as a competitive sportsman, so I can confidently say there really is no sport like slalom skiing. It is the most difficult, frustrating, and technical sport I have ever participated in. However, the challenge is what fuels me to keep taking it head on. I feel grateful that I get to pursue my passion for this unique, lesser-known sport while being supported by work and the balance that Sandis provides. Working out of our Roseville office has allowed me to live within minutes of a serene lake and train more often with my coach.
I wear Sandis’ logo proudly on my vest, representing us at tournaments. I want everyone to know where I love to work! Wish me luck at next year’s Western Regionals and Nationals competitions and feel free to reach out if you want to learn more about this amazing sport.
