We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Chad Browning and Nate Dickinson! Please join us in extending our congratulations to Chad and Nate as they step into their new roles. With their exceptional skills and dedication, they are poised to excel and will undoubtedly continue to drive Sandis toward new heights of success.
Chad Browning, PE, QSD/P, LEED AP has worked with us for 18 years and has nearly 25 years of experience in the industry. He most recently led our Silicon Valley and Sacramento engineering teams and was instrumental in the expansion of our new Santa Cruz office.
Chad has led Sandis’ civil engineering teams through public works, academic, office, and mixed-use development projects. When the CZU Lightning Complex fires burned through parts of Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties in 2020, Chad played a key role in helping the San Lorenzo Valley Water District assess the fire damage to more than 7 miles of their water pipeline systems. Since then, he has continued to help repair and construct the District’s water system. In his broader work, he supports efforts to strengthen the resilience of water infrastructure systems for local agencies, water districts, and special districts throughout Northern California. He’s also been integral in Sandis’ parks, recreational and open spaces work. For almost a decade, he has worked with Santa Clara County on the development of Martial Cottle Park, a 287-acre urban park providing miles of trails, agricultural education, and sustainable farming practices. Chad has worked on a number of parks in the City of Santa Clara, Pittsburg, Mountain View, Coyote Valley Open Space, and Midpeninsula Regional Open Space.
Chad has served as a mentor to many engineers throughout his career, both at Sandis and beyond. He strives to uphold Sandis’ culture of integrity and leadership. Additionally, he has worked tirelessly to build lasting partnerships with clients and peers.
As our new Vice President of Operations, we cheer him on as he continues to focus on operations, productivity, and quality of Sandis deliverables, now without boundaries. This next chapter of his career empowers him to inject fresh energy into Sandis’ operations, enabling the firm to efficiently expand and thrive.
With over 13 years of invaluable contribution to Sandis’ engineering teams, Nate Dickinson, PE, QSD/QSP, has played a vital role in Sandis’ success. He has spearheaded development, academic, and mixed-use projects, highlighting his exceptional leadership and project management skills. His commitment to building lasting relationships with developers, general contractors, and consultant teams underscores Sandis’ reputation for reliability and continuity on projects. Nate has led engineering teams through multi-year, multi-phase commercial, office, and mixed-use developments throughout Silicon Valley. During his tenure, he has worked on notable projects including Apple Park, 1st and Brokaw, Middle Plaza, and The Rise (formerly Vallco Town Center), which recently reached a major approval milestone with the City of Cupertino. He has been a cornerstone in providing engineering services for numerous Stanford University facility and housing projects. He has worked on Stanford’s Golf Course Renovation, Frost Amphitheater, Smith Family Stadium, the Varsity Tennis Center, Escondido Village Graduate Residences, Portola Valley Housing, and many more campus projects.
Nate is passionate about building community and training the next generation of great engineers. He’s been instrumental in paving the way for Sandis design engineers getting started in the AEC industry. Nate is synonymous with Sandis Brews as the founder and brewer of our specially engineered beer. He is often seen around the office with a refractometer testing the density of his craft beer and outfitting the Campbell office’s beer room.
Nate will now serve as Director of Engineering. We entrust him in this new role of broader responsibilities in leading our Silicon Valley Engineering Department. We look forward with promise and excitement as Nate starts this new phase in his career and journey with Sandis.
These well-deserved achievements are a result of all of their hard work and dedication to Sandis, the world of engineering, and projects that better our communities. These promotions are a testament to our commitment to internal growth. Employee advancement and recognition through promotions help to cultivate growth opportunities for our staff and forge strong continuity for our leadership. Congratulations to Chad Browning and Nate Dickinson! We’re proud to have you both as members of the Sandis team.
